Happy Titanic Day! It was 91 years ago today that the Titanic sank.

Going Digital
So, we’ve been saving up and doing research and are hoping to get a digital camera (finally!) Everyone else we know has already done it. One of the reasons we’re taking so long is that we are both amateur photographers. We’re not looking for something for travel snapshots and other casual use. We’ve both been trying to do “art photography” for quite a long time. So, we’re being really very very picky.
So, where are we now? Well, we’re trying not to spend an absurd amount of money but we’re also trying not to under-spend and be limited by the camera. As of today (and this is quite the moving target), I’m down to two that I’m *really* interested in:
* “Canon PowerShot G3”:http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canong3/
* “Canon EOS 10D”:http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos10d/ (See also this “Mac-centric review)”:http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/mac/2003/04/01/canon_10d.html
If anyone out there has other/additional opinions, drop me a line! (BTW, the pictures of the cherry blossoms (see below) were taken on an old Kodak 1MP camera. Imagine if we’d had a good camera for those?)
